He earned his Medical Degree from Shanghai University of Chinese Medicine and Pharmacology and his M.Sc. in Anatomy and Cell Biology from the Upstate Medical University of New York. He is licensed by the Board of Registration in Medicine of Massachusetts to practice acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in the state. He brought more than 30 years of experience and expertise in Chinese acupuncture and herbal medicine.

He has multiple interests and experience teaching research in Western and Chinese medicine. He has been involved in clinical research projects on acupuncture treatment of Alzheimer's disease at the Women's Research Center of Wellesley College and the low back pain study through the Research Center on Alternative/Complementary Medicine of Beth Israel Hospital. He is on staff at Zakim Center for Integrated Therapies of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He is also board-certified and licensed in radiation therapy and medical dosimetry and served as program director of the Joint Center for Radiation Therapy at Harvard Medical School. He is the assistant professor at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, core faculty at the New England School of Acupuncture, and on the Massachusetts Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine board of directors.

Besides his general practice, he is specialized and highly successful in treating overweight, stress reduction, pain control, infertility, natural face rejuvenation, smoking cessation, and cancer care with Traditional Chinese Medicine, including acupuncture, acupressure, and Chinese herbal medicine.
